About the artist

A retired Art Educator after 39 years of teaching, now working as a freelance artist in multiple mediums.

As an artist, I focuses on capturing the essence of the subject, be it landscape, portrait, or developing the essential concept in abstracted form. finding the characteristics that are uniquely identifiable yet relatable. Commissioned work often combines these components.

Known for intimate portraits of individuals and groups, featured against backgrounds that deepen and accentuate the true spirit of the subject whether a person or family pet. I apply these same principles of understanding to landscapes. Many of which reflect a personal connection or experience.

My experience working as a teacher has made me exceptionally versatile with different materials (mediums include oils, acrylics, watercolor, color pencil, ink, graphite and mixed media. “ Learning by doing”, and reviewing the process as well as the product, has been my Motto for students over four decades and it continues as a Mantra for my self-guided journey in Art and expression.
